Balsa glued blocks, graded by density
ECUBALSHEET manufactures balsa glued blocks at its factory in Ecuador from kiln-dried balsa wood. Each block measures 48 × 24 in, with lengths from 8 to 48 in, and is supplied in four density grades from 85 to 288 kg/m³, FCL or LCL.

Drying and certification
Blocks leave the factory free of knots and cracks, with planed faces. The wood is sanitised and kiln-dried down to 8 – 12 % moisture with our specialized drying program, the key to the quality of our products. The number of days depends on the dimensions: the thinner the strips, the fewer drying days they need. Our products are certified pest-free by AGROCALIDAD and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries of Ecuador.
What they are used for
Balsa glued blocks are the raw material for composite cores: wind turbine blades, marine, automotive and other sandwich structures. They are also used for carved parts and model making.
Packing and export
We ship FCL (Full Container Load) or LCL (Less than Container Load), in 20 ft and 40 ft containers. Incoterms: EXW (Ex Works, at our factory), FOB (Free On Board) Guayaquil and CIF to your port. With every shipment we provide the export documents: commercial invoice, packing list with photos of the shipment, quality control document, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate and bill of lading (B/L).
