Why balsa in the blade core
Ecuadorian balsa combines low density (100 – 200 kg/m³) with very high compressive and shear strength for its weight. That is why it is the most widely used sandwich core in wind turbine blades: glass or carbon fibre provides the skins and balsa gives structural thickness with minimum weight.
What we supply
Balsa glued blocks in heavy and extra heavy grades (200 – 288 kg/m³), 4" – 8" thick, 24" wide and 8" – 48" long, ready for kit cutting. Also density-graded sheets and sticks for the rest of the part.
Piece-by-piece density control
Every block is weighed and graded. We deliver the density your blade engineering specifies, at 8 – 12 % moisture, with phytosanitary certification from Agrocalidad and the Ministry of Agriculture of Ecuador.
Volume and logistics
We sell by full container only (20', 40' or 40' HC), FOB Guayaquil or CIF to your port. We produce in Durán-Yaguachi, minutes from the port, for blade manufacturers and their kit suppliers.
